Steinberg notes that Don Imus has re-emerged from the Rutgers basketball controversy largely unscathed, and apparently as popular as ever. He lists numerous big-name politicians that have appeared on the show and companies that have returned to advertising on it. Why? Partly due to the public's short attention span, and partly due to the relationships Imus built during decades on the air. That's not to say that everyone has forgiven Imus, but his clear attempts at good behavior seem to be winning people over and buying him a new lease on radio life. Steinberg provides an interesting update, though it's nothing earth-shattering.
